Regular Workshops 2014

The Park offers an entertaining way of approaching Prehistory through workshops designed for individual visitors, families and children over the age of 4.

FEBRURY AND MARCH: materials workshop. Inventions Corner.

Februry, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:00.

March, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:15

Experimental archaeology workshop. Visitors will be able to experience the effectiveness of some Palaeolithic inventions, discover their possible uses and test their skills at using them: how to boil water, use a bullroarer, discover the origin of glue or learn about the use of airbrush painting, among other aspects.

 

 

APRIL, MAY AND JUNE: painting workshop. The artist´s workshop.

From April to June, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:15.

Thousands of colours brightened up the caves. Techniques, pigments, lighting ... You will experience them all during this workshop. Did you know of the existence of prehistoric spray? You will learn how to paint on a cave wall: how to prepare and obtain the pigments, what tools were used and what techniques were applied to Palaeolithic art.

JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER: hunting workhop. Horrifying predators.

July and August, every day at 12:30 and 17:45.

September, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:15.

We propose a long journey through the history of hunting techniques and tools, from the humble biface (hand-axe) to complex throwing tools or bows and arrows. Try them out!

OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER: Archaeologist for a day workshop

October and November, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:15.

December, weekends and public holidays, at 13:00 and 17:00.

Put yourself in the place of an archaeologist by simulating an excavation project. You will have to find various objects in a large sand box using a spade and a brush. Once you have found something, you will have to clean it with great care and then record and measure it, among other tasks.
